I caught 40 to 50 the other day cast'n & twitch'n a 1.5 Limits Tackle split tail plastic on a 1/8 #4 hook.... And the size of them will make you think they're hybrids.....
Just so you know they're still in the lake for your enjoyment....

you are probably right SK what i am calling white bass it probably
the hybrids because they stocked them in houston for years
until 2017 almost every year only 2 years did they stock stripes
mostly just the hybrids called Palmetto bass
A hybrid striped bass, also known as a wiper or whiterock bass,
is a hybrid between the striped bass (Morone saxatilis) and the
white bass (M. chrysops). ... Others are produced by fertilizing eggs
from striped bass with sperm from white bass; the resulting fish is
called a "palmetto bass".

Yep, they are alive and well in the lake . . and hungry! Been catching mine on 1/2 - 3/4 oz slab spoons in 10 -12 FOW.

They cook up well . . but I’ve found soaking the fillets overnight in buttermilk knocks out most of the fishy taste.

Do you cut out the blood line? And still soak them?

Generally I don’t trim out the red . . doesn’t seem to be too bad in a majority of the LH white bass. The larger ones can tend to have more red, so I’ll trim it out in those cases.
